Private property owners are entitled to enforce their property rights so please be smart and considerate as you would before hunting for anything on private lands. Written permission is what you need to harvest anything from private property. Ohh.... by the way, delicious are the fungi I desire. I know well all ingredients I cook and eat including my mushrooms. Who would not be careful about eating any plant or animal for the fist time?  Recipes are on the internet and we sell a local cook book at the Hidden Pines Market building too. Other applications for wild mushrooms are many including; health remedies, nutrition, and psychedelic. Hidden Pines has not enough time or resources to invest towards these other wild forest mushroom applications. We do enjoy visits from fungi experts and botanical scientists who frequent our RV park during our winter and spring harvest.

Fresh and dried wild forest mushrooms are available daily during fall and winter from noon to 5 pm. Share a recipe. Local private property owners have long enjoyed their own harvest of delicious forest mushroom varieties and have some great recipes as do some local restaurants. Fungi fans attend events and tours at the Botanical Gardens each year. To harvest your own mushrooms in the Jackson State Park, there is a $20 permit required from the state park service office in Fort Bragg. Share a recipe when you visit the store. Here is one non-gourmet wonder recipe that has converted many local people into fungi mongers. Fresh forest mushroom burgers... red onions, salt, pepper, olive oil, home made blackberry wine tossed into a bowl with fresh wild mushrooms, then add some to the grill as you put a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on your burger. Wait 2 or 3 minutes then flip the melted cheese burger, melt side down, onto the grilled forest mushrooms. Wait 1 minute then put that on your bun. - Yummy -

PS - Rinse the onions and mushrooms just before you mix um in your bowl.
Enjoy :0) We'll see ya when we see ya.

All of us including and especially children need proper education and training to determine which plants are suitable for food, including how to harvest and prepare them as food. Books and videos are very useful but working with others too, as we develop skills for harvest and preparation are a method we can follow that has many good results.

PS - Rinse the onions and mushrooms just before you mix um in your bowl.
Enjoy :0) We will see ya when we see ya.

This pretty fungi inside my saw blade is not sold here. Leave these where you find them is the best plan. There are many varieties of plants including mushrooms that are harmful to our health.

Aliens can be a small problem sometimes, only because they are partial to abalone with Golden Chanterelle Mushrooms and they eat much more than human guests. They also are very quiet and can be boring.
